The question is, what will you do? He knew his faith was mixed with unbelief, and He called him on it. I know my faith tends to waver from time to time. An argument was taking place, and people were stirred up. And so I ask God for all of us this morning, “Lord, help my unbelief.”. If not, let me point you to a book everyone should have on their shelves. Also, The Old Testament is precious to Christians because it’s a book about God’s work with Israel in preparation for the Messiah who would come not only to save Israel but to save the world from the power and punishment of sin. His frustration comes because of ongoing unbelief. Christ did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. This is a far cry from the centurion's "just say the word" (Matt.8:8)! In response, Jesus commands the unclean spirit to come out of the boy and the boy is completely healed. I do not receive glory from people. Faith is based on what we know. A Faithful Version And the father of the little child cried out at once, saying with tears, "Lord, I believe. Do you really honor God? . Any claim by a Jewish person or a Muslim or a Hindu or a Buddhist or a spiritualist or an animist or a Christian for that matter — any claim to know God or honor God or love God while not receiving Christ as the Son of God and the crucified risen Savior is false.
